December 27th, 2020 was such a special day for our team. One of our Jubilette’s got engaged and we got to help! Being a planner, Maddy had always told her boyfriend, Thomas, that when he was going to propose, he should reach out to our team to help. He listened because at the beginning of December we got a text from him requesting our help!

Here’s what Maddy had to say about her and Thomas’ love story, “Thomas and I met in college and started dating 4.5 years ago. I met him my freshman year but we didn’t reconnect until the next year. My best friend in college was dating one of Thomas’s roommates so we met one night and the rest was history!”

“Flash forward to Christmas 2020, he surprised me with a stay at Mountain Shadows. This resort is really special to the both of us – we go there for Thanksgiving and Christmas every year, and Thomas’s parents got married there 31 years ago! We checked in on Saturday, December 26th, and I was so sure he was going to propose that night! Little did I know, Thomas had always planned on doing it Sunday. He told me that our 1 night stay had turned into 2 nights, and I thought nothing of it. We had brunch and relaxed all Sunday. Around 3pm, he told me that we were switching rooms so we packed up our bags and waited by the bar. He offered to take our bags to the car so we didn’t have to carry them around with us. While I thought he was “putting our bags away” he was actually running around, Facetiming everyone to make sure everything was in place.”

“He came back and let me know our new room was almost ready and wanted to take photos while we waited. We went outside and me being a wedding planner, started telling Thomas about how/where weddings happen outside. Then, he asked about going up to Camelback Overlook. He had never been up there so I thought it would be fun to show him where wedding receptions happen. Right when I got to the top of the stairs, I immediately saw flowers, candles, and big letters that said LOVE. I knew what was happening and was in shock. After talking for a little bit, he got down on a knee and popped the question! After I said yes, my sister and Thomas’s sister both ran out from where they were hiding. I thought my sister had left that morning to go back to Texas so I was so surprised to see her!”

“Then, the Your Jubilee girls, Ryann Lindsey, and Jess from The Good Vibe Media all came out. I couldn’t believe that so many of my favorite people were there to celebrate this moment with us! I’m so thankful for everyone that made our engagement possible. From Thomas’s parents wedding to our engagement, Mountain Shadows will always hold a special place in our heart.”
