Welcome to the celebrated life podcast Episode 54! Today we get to talk with Cora of Tailored In White, a luxury bridal alteration and redesign team! We have had multiple clients use them for their alterations on their wedding dress, additionally, Ashley had a jumpsuit done by their team and she is constantly referring her clients to them because of how passionately they approach the tailoring process.
HER HISTORY OF TAILORING
Cora has been sewing her entire life. Her grandmother owned a bridal company that tailored, altered, and created gowns. Growing up she was around her grandma 24/7 which helped her pick up sewing and start working on her friends clothes and working for her grandma.
As she started in the adult world she knew there was a market for her skills in the wedding industry. She wanted to create a space that made brides and their squad to feel comfortable. Cora loves the word “tailored” meaning they are tailoring the garment specifically to their clients body and because they specialize in wedding gowns, Tailored in White came to be. They opened their shop in Scottsdale, Arizona in a cute space to have fitting with the brides and their loved ones. Recently they opened their second store in Denver!
OTHER BRIDE MUST HAVES
In addition to alterations, Tailored in White also does custom accessories. They used extra scraps from alterations to apply to their veil, garters, and even using them in jean and leather jackets!
WHAT TO KNOW
Tailored in White uses a four stage process for their alterations starting with their consultation that they go over the overall vision and going into the first pinning for the bust. Cora recommends brides to start with alterations at least 10 to 12 weeks before their wedding. She also highly recommends brides to bring a friend to learn to bustle the dress so they are free to dance all night without their dress in the way.
Cora celebrates her life by putting her heart and soul into Tailored in White. She loves being able to do what she loves and teach others her skill.
