Videography Vibes with Carly of The Good Vibe Media

Today we are welcoming Carly with The Good Vibe Media!  We were so excited to finally have her come into the studio and talk with us about all things video and how it was always her career goal to document people.  Her and her team specialize in weddings, but they also do charity events, galas, branding and marketing videos. Carly celebrates joy in her day to day life and we are excited for her to share with you her tips to celebrate the small wins in life.  Without further ado, Carly Gilleland!

Carly is a native to Arizona attending Arcadia High school where she was involved in their incredible media program.  That is where she found videography was her passion.  She produced a two-minute video for a school project featuring her sister who has special needs. She received such a great response to the video, she even won an award for it.  She loves that she can show a different perspective on something and to be able to inspire through story-telling. With this first experience, she knew she wanted to make if her future.

In college she got an entrepreneurial itch and started investing in herself by purchasing gear.  She made videos for her professors at CSU Long Beach and local business’. Carly originally wanted to do broadcast journalism but quickly realized it wasn’t quite her thing. When she was in college she was introduced to documentary-style film and knew that it was the path she wanted to follow.  She loves the authentic experience of making this type of film and how it conveys emotions.

Carly found out she was pregnant after graduating college and decided to move back to Phoenix.  She began working for The Madison, a local Spin and yoga studio and was doing their marketing. Two and a half years ago, she began to organically build her business and quickly expanded and built her team of awesome creatives.  Now, she oversees all of the projects to make sure it makes follows their company’s brand.

“We are a team of story tellers that produce high quality video that align on the basis of good vibes.”

As a single mom, Carly says, “I have this passion and drive to live not only my best life, but to also be an example for her.”  She knows with a lot on her plate, when life sometimes getting a little crazy as a mom and business owner, she needs to step back and celebrate the small wins.

Every year, she works the Colleen’s Dream Foundation Gala that supports research for early detection of ovarian cancer.  She works with foundations for mental health and also works with the Special Olympics. She is able to help people see the impact they can have on the organizations she supports.  Carly loves being able to meet people through her business and getting to know people from different walks of life. She continues to work as a spin instructor at The Madison and loves being active with spin and yoga.

Carly celebrates the small moments of every day and jokes, “anytime you get your hands on a confetti gun, you pop that!”  A huge part of her big picture is gratitude. She has shifted her life by jornaling her gratitude daily and has discovered that even though every day might not be great, there is still something to be grateful for every day.

We think this is such great advice for anyone wanting to shift to positivity.  Taking time to reflect each day about the wins can turn even the bad days good. We feel so happy to have Carly as this week’s guest and are excited to share her episode with you!
