Julia & Dylan

After dating for 5 years, Dylan decided it was time to finally propose to Julia. In 2018, they hopped on a plane, and took a well deserved vacation to Alaska. On one of their days there, they went on a nature hike. Along the way, Julia’s phone died because she was taking so many pictures…the hike was just breathtaking! They ended up at Virgin Falls, where Dylan got down on a knee and proposed.
After the proposal Julia and Dylan immediately knew they wanted a desert themed wedding and The Paseo was the perfect venue for that. The open desert space and stunning backdrop of the Superstition Mountains gave them a blank canvas and the ability to incorporate, “The 5 C’s of Arizona”: copper, cattle, cotton, citrus, and climate. In the early years of the state these 5 C’s played a big role in Arizona’s economy and many jobs were centered around them. You can see this theme tied in throughout the details of their day from the vibrant colors to the hot sauce guest seating!
As part of the unity portion in their ceremony, instead of the traditional candle lighting, Julia & Dylan added the soil to a citrus tree, which they plan on planting in their future home. Her sister originally was supposed to ordain their wedding, but had to stay in China as her first born was due. Her sister was still able to join in on all the festivities online at the ceremony and during reception. Watching it live was such a great way for her to feel like she was actually there, and not so far away.
We love when couples can incorporate their pets into their day. You’ll notice the beers from the beer burro have their own custom labels of their dog.
To capture all the special moments of their day they met with photographer Mike Olbinski and they knew he was “the one” after taking their engagement photos up North. These are seriously some dreamy photos! We love Mike!
Julia and Dylan’s number one concern was to have a stress-free and fun-filled wedding day. They trusted a pro like Planner Hayley to streamline their day and take care of all the details. That meant they got to spend more precious time with loved ones and most importantly tearing it up on the dance floor!
Their wedding planner, Hayley, remembers, “Working with Dylan & Julia was a truly enjoyable experience. As planners, we love when we get the chance to create unique experiences through design. Julia & Dylan were gracious enough to trust me to help execute their vision, for an Arizona “5 C’s” themed wedding. They were so fun to collaborate with during the design process. It can be very difficult to pinpoint what exactly you want your wedding to look like, but when you have incredible clients who have trust & confidence in their vision, it makes the process so much more exciting. I was ecstatic to see their dream day come to life with all of their loved ones by their side. I wish them all the happiness in the world, which I personally hope includes many more fur babies in the future.”
From beginning to end, the whole design was a unique combination of Julia and Dylan’s stories. Their wedding completely stole our hearts!
