At the end of my career, when I look back on weddings I really loved to produce, I will definitely include Ashley and Jalens. Not just because I loved the vision they had for the day, but because they gave me their unwavering trust and we loved working together. We loved it so much that Ashley joined our team afterwards as an intern, then assistant planner, and now she is one of our lead planners.
Ashley and Jalen, wanted a nuetral wedding but they wanted to play with shades of brown and mocha, before mocha mousse was the color of the year. They were not afraid to play with funky florals, layers and textures, all while infusing little details about their lives into the design and flow of the day. – Ashley Allan Lead Planner
We didn’t put a lot of designbudget into the ceremony because at the Wrigley Mansion, you don’t need to add much to the ceremony space. Instead, we focused on creating moments in cocktail hour and really amping up the reception space. We played with amaranthus to mimic dripping wax. Lux played with dried and dyed florals to match the chocolate color palette. We had a custom marbled vinyl made with gold veining to match the coppery linens. We added a modern touch with an acrylic name dangling from the water goblet.
We absolutely loved the little figurines of their dogs on the cake, but the customization didn’t end there. The chose a first dance that was not a waltz but rather a fun upbeat choreography that spoke to the energy they have together.
You know its going to be a good dance party when the bride and groom change into a sweatsuit! This one did not disappoint. We had so much fun with Ashley and Jalen’s day and hope you enjoyed this walk down memory lane.
