As New York Fashion Week wraps up we had a chance to see the latest trends and styles in wedding dresses. Designers stepped it up a notch with beautiful new details, colors, and necklines. The biggest trends seen throughout multiple designers lines were: off-the-shoulder necklines, tulle skirts, colored wedding dresses, capes, and collars.
Oscar de la Renta and Marchesa’s shows were filled with beautiful off-the-shoulder and cap sleeve gowns that are perfect for the bride who wants a sleeve but does not want to feel completely covered up. These graceful styles are beautiful for the new, modern bride.
We posted to our Instagram last week that Disney announced their new Princess Elsa inspired wedding dress that will be light blue in color. Turns out that Alfred Angelo’s new design is right on trend with what was seen on the runways during Fashion Week.
Dress colors we have talked about before here on the blog such as mint, blue, blush, and gray hues emerged on the runways in various designers shows. Monique Lhuillier showed a bold, full blue gown with beautiful ivory and grey gowns to complement. Sareh Nouri showed the most color with the majority of her gowns shown in pinks and grays.
Tulle skirts overtook the runways and were shown in oversized dramatic form from designers such as Vera Wang. Tulle adds a playful look to your wedding day. Some designers even made the tulle removable to give the bride two looks for her big day.
Capes are a great new trend for brides to be that can be taken on and off to add different looks throughout your wedding day. This dramatic style was seen through many designers collections.
The high neckline has been on trend for a while, but for the bride who wants a more regal look the collared wedding dress may be the style for you. This trend was shown with beautiful layers and embellishments that are fit for a queen.
Spring 2015 has many amazing styles to offer. Whatever your body type or wedding style there are many great trends from many collections that will work for you!
