Last month Olivia Palermo, socialite and fashionista, tied the knot in shorts… yes wedding shorts. Her preppy style was showcased with a white cashmere sweater, full tulle Carolina Herrera skirt, with matching shorts underneath. In my opinion the piece I am most obsessed with are her “something blue” Manolo Blahnik shoes that matched the same ones Carrie Bradshaw wore when marrying Big in The Sex in the City Movie.
Regardless of my opinion on wedding shorts, I wanted to see how may couples were actually doing this and how they styled shorts into their wedding. Here are some ways you can incorporate this new, casual trend into your wedding.
The most common I have seen are shorts incorporated into a beach, destination style wedding.
Shorts can also be incorporated into a backyard, barn wedding theme with the grooms, groomsmen, and even the bridesmaids attire.
I love the shorts look as a second “dress” option for the reception. Something you can switch into that still is bridal but is more comfortable and fun while dancing with your guest.
