We are well into 2016 and with our fabulous new website, blog, and office, we are getting back into the swing of things and have brought back Trend Tuesdays! Today we are showcasing all the amazing ways you can light up your wedding or event and what is on trend this year leading into 2017.
Romantic Glow: Uplighting, Candles, & Lanterns
This lighting trend isn’t something different or new, but is something that brides still love. Our couples use candles, uplighting, and lanterns to create the romantic ambience from their ceremony and carry it through their reception. We are seeing now that instead of just a few votives or candles here and there brides want a more over the top and dramatic look to really bring the beautiful glow.
Chic Bling: Chandeliers
If you are into more of a elegant feel to your special day, bringing in hanging or standing chandeliers is the way to go. You can incorporate chandeliers in your ceremony with it hanging from a floral archway or tree or chandeliers all throughout a reception with tall standing flower arrangements. Our New Years Eve bride and groom took it up a notch and had a chandelier hang above each table with hanging florals. The lighting was also synced with the DJ so the lighting moved with the music throughout the evening.
Backyard vibes: Edison Bulbs and Bistro Lights
We love Bistro lighting and Edison bulbs! These lights have become popular due to more couples opting for more unconventional spaces to hold their weddings were the reception is often held in a backyard type space. With all of the amazing outdoor spaces in Arizona we are seeing this more and more! We even added bistro lighting indoors at The MonOrchid to bring more of the vintage look into a very modern space. Feel free to get creative with this lighting trend and hang additional lighting from your ceremony arch or trees.
Video Mapping: Moving Wall Paper and Cake Lighting
This trend brings a whole lot of “wow” to your wedding reception. Using moving light on the walls to look like moving wallpaper will completely transform the room. Cake lighting will absolutely be the talk of the night when your guest see the movement throughout your gorgeous tiered cake. Locally, Karma Event Lighting has been able to show off their skill set with this type of lighting and it is amazing!
Whichever you choose, remember lighting helps elevate and complete the overall theme to your wedding. Lighting is an important factor to your big day, so try not to focus to much on what is trendiest but what is really true to you so that the lighting helps tell your wedding story.
