And just like that, our Spring 2022 internship has officially come to an end! Every season we welcome interns onto the Your Jubilee team and give them an opportunity to see what wedding planning is all about! Our internship includes weekly office hours, attending design meetings and final walk throughs, workshops with wedding professionals around the valley, working at real weddings and styled shoots, and a final design project to add to their event portfolio! We are proud to say that many of our interns have continued to work for the Phoenix wedding industry and some interns have advanced into other roles in our company!
Meet our Spring 2022 interns who have been absolute rockstars this wedding season and learn all about their time as a Jubilette!

“I have truly enjoyed every moment of my internship with Your Jubilee. From my 1st wedding until my last of this season I have strengthened my skills and confidence in being a planner. I feel like I have evolved from asking how I can complete tasks to moving ahead with a “planner’s intuition” of making my own tasks happen to transform the space and take charge of what needs to happen.
Above all, I feel like I have affirmed my own dream and desire to break into the wedding industry! My 11-year-old self would be in awe of the weddings I have been part of as well as the friendships and connections I have made with the YJ team and vendors in the Phoenix valley. Every wedding day I get to be part of has deepened my love for planning weddings. I have been making my own dream as well as other’s dream come to fruition!”

“Throughout my experience I have seen and learned so much. I have been able to see all the behind the scenes of a wedding day. I have learned that it takes a village to ensure that the bride and groom have THE BEST DAY EVER. With YJ you are never alone. When there is a problem, you have an entire team behind you to help you find a solution. I have learned how to be confident in your decisions and to not second guess yourself. Confidence is key when organizing a big event! The ladies at YJ have shown me how to stay calm when a mistake is made or when things do not go as planned. It’s a mindset of “what can we do” and not focusing on the negative. This internship really ensured me that wedding planning is where my heart belongs and I owe it all to the YJ team.
Ever since I planned my own wedding a few years ago I had the dream of become a wedding planner. There are so many things about a wedding that I enjoy but the absolute best moment for me is when everyone sees the bride for the first time at the ceremony. The way a bride just lights up when she sees her husband and all her family and friends turn to look at her. I love how you can just see the emotion on her face all at once. When the bride and groom can feel the love in the air and know that everyone is there to support them and their marriage, there is no better feeling.”

“Throughout my time as an intern I learned a lot of valuable details about what goes into working a wedding. Before this internship I knew planning a wedding was a lot of work, but I didn’t know the full extent of work that goes into making the day run smoothly. The day of prep for the wedding really does take a full crew, and everyone needs to be on the same page to execute the design and planning. I also never realized how detailed the day of timeline is, with everything written out from girls getting makeup done, to transportation details, to the grand exit! Learning what goes into a timeline also helped me in planning my own wedding and setting up my own day of timeline. I don’t think a lot of people know what really goes into making a wedding happen as a planner, and how many people it takes to make the day come together.
I loved getting to see wedding day from start to finish. Getting to be hands on in the set-up portion of the wedding is definitely something I really enjoyed. I love to design and decorate and found it so satisfying to watch the space go from empty to completely decorated. I enjoyed getting to see all the couples celebrate their love and definitely shed some tears watching brides walk down the aisle! The dynamic of Your Jubilee is awesome as everyone wants to help each other and are willing to go above and beyond for couples. This internship has given me valuable experience and introduced me to people that can help me excel in the wedding/event planning industry.”

“Meagan and Ashley have created such a wonderful learning opportunity for those interested in wedding and event management. My favorite part about being an intern was experiencing first-hand the organized chaos which are wedding days. From the moment you arrive at the venue it’s “go time” – unloading vehicles stacked to the brim with chargers, linens and detail items, checking in with the bride to ensure make-up and hair are running smoothly and on time, greeting and directing vendors as they arrive to begin set up – interns with Your Jubilee experience all this and more.
On a wedding day, it is only natural for things to go wrong. I especially enjoyed the on-the-fly problem solving aspect. I loved the fact that even as an intern, I was given the opportunity to provide ideas and solutions to different hic-ups throughout the day. It was also such a joy to watch the design, which I would have only seen as a concept up until this point, come together with all the vendors. It was hard not to tear up with the couples as they laid eyes on their event for the first time!”

“Your Jubilee throws you into the ring and lets you start helping on weddings immediately. I learned all about the little details that ultimately make the big picture happen. Everyone is friendly and happy to answer questions, whether you know anything about weddings or not. The things I’ve learned here will help shape me into the best event coordinator that I can be. Weddings are, arguably, the most important days for a client. I took in how much time, effort and swathes of organization go into making the couple’s day perfect.
I was able to work on the different aspects of wedding days, from set-up to helping the wedding party. I’m thankful for the opportunity to learn from professionals and those who take their craft seriously. The experience has been the best thing a student and observer, like me, can ask for and being able to shadow throughout the season has taught me much about weddings, but also events in general!”
