It’s not every day you get to work with a bride who’s family owns a floral company and today’s real wedding is just that! Cheyenne and Connor tied the knot in October and when it came to design, Cheyenne wasn’t afraid to incorporate lots of color. She wanted to be bold and have black as the main color of her wedding palette, but also pull in pops of red, orange, and yellow to compliment the Fall season.
When browsing Instagram for wedding inspiration, Cheyenne came across a bouquet and knew she wanted to center her wedding day design around this. From that one inspiration photo, we dove headfirst into design. We pulled in the bright colors from this photo, which you can see in all of the details from the cascading hand-dyed ribbon wrapped around the bouquets, to the floral centerpieces.
Cheyenne and Connor say, “I love you, babes” to each other all the time, so we made sure to incorporate that saying into their wedding day design! We came up with ideas on how to display a custom neon sign that said this saying, and landed on an idea which was a team effort. One of our wedding planners, Kayle, and her husband, constructed a stand based on the size and the weight of the neon sign. We hung this in front of the head table which was the perfect way to light up the dance floor and highlight the new couple. What started off as a sketch, turned into reality.
Being a graphic designer, Cheyenne absolutely loved texture. From the letter pressed invitations to the 3D garnishes on the cake, there was a lot of thought that went into each detail.
Their wedding planner, Maddy, reflects, “Working with Cheyenne was an absolute dream! Getting to design and bounce ideas off of someone who is so creative and wasn’t afraid to incorporate bright colors was so much fun. We took risks, and got to play around with amazing florals and textures. She was so sweet and I loved seeing her face light up on wedding day when she saw everything come to life!”
One part of the day that was important to the couple, was that they got to share a dance with no one watching. As guests lined up outside for the sparkler exit, they shared one last dance to end the night to the acoustic version of “I Like Me Better” by Lauv.
For their grand exit, they walked through a sparkler tunnel surrounded by their friends and family, and drove off in Cheyenne’s grandma’s red Mercedes convertible as Mr. & Mrs!
