How to Plan a ‘Stay-cation’ in Phoenix

Hey hey!

It’s Gloria again, and I’m here today to tell you all about my love for ‘stay-cations’. A stay-cation is a relaxing and rejuvenating experience similar to a vacation, but in your area exploring local sites and escaping day-to-day routines. This weekend, my best friend and I got to show her friend from Texas around Phoenix, and we were reminded of why we love it so much. Here is where we went:

Old Town Scottsdale

Whether your out of town guest likes to shop, to eat, or to people-watch, you can find something you both like in Old Town. The spot has some great photo opportunities with western style art and sculptures, and many timeless restaurants to eat at.

Arizona State University

I am a proud Sun Devil and I think that any person would be impressed by the ASU Tempe campus. As the largest public university in the United States, the campus is always packed with students and events with free food and prizes that regularly occur. Right next to campus, Mill Avenue has it’s own strip of shops and restaurants to explore as well as a very exciting nightlife.

Apache Junction

The scenery in Apache Junction is the exactly what people think of when they picture Arizona. The red rock and cacti with the sunset in the background is a sight that is completely unparalleled. Spend a day tubing on the salt river, have a picnic on the shore, or have a portrait mode style photoshoot like we did.

Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall

I am a shopping fanatic, and upon visiting the state of Arizona for the first time, the only thing that I remember from that first trip is Fashion Square. This mall has every store imaginable, and it can be an all-day experience with restaurants, a spa, and events like pop-up shops and fashion shows.

Resorts

Need a great place to stay and unwind? Not a problem at all in Arizona as we are home to some of the most gorgeous resorts in the world. From the Four Seasons, to Mountain Shadows, to the Royal Palms, they all boast amazing spas, poolside drinks and food, and jaw dropping mountain views. These are only a few of our luxury resorts to choose from but almost all have the ability to help you unwind and relax white you are enjoying your stay-cation.

All in all, Phoenix is a beautifully versatile place with something for everyone. Consider taking a “stay-cation” for yourself this weekend and explore our city!
