As I sit at home unwinding and reflecting on the amazing weekend I had in California with my friends and family I am smiling and find myself tearing up a bit! Don’t worry they are happy tears! This past weekend my twin sister got engaged to the man of her dreams. It was a moment she has been anticipating and anxiously waiting on for a while and her fiancé Gabby made sure it was a day she would never forget.
After proposing on the beach he invited a few friends and family for a small get together at a family winery, Fallbrook Winery, for a surprise engagement party. As she saw our mom, and the friends and family who were able to fly in, tears began to fall down her cheeks. The space was filled with beautiful live music, professional pictures printed from the proposal that morning, a framed photo for guest to sign, and of course plenty of flowing wine!
To the newest Bride & Groom to be,
I am so overwhelmed with joy and happiness for you. You bring out the best in each other and challenge each other to be better people daily. As you prepare for one of the biggest days of your life I want you to remember a few things. First, be present to and enjoy each moment. Soon enough you will be talking budgets, dates, venues, guest list, colors, and flowers- which is all very exciting but can become stressful and may even lead into a few disagreements. When this happens be sure to smile, take a breath, and remember you are planning a day all around your love for one another and that is really what it is all about (even though the linens and flowers are so fun to choose!) Any time you have a vendor meeting, shower, or party celebrating you during this time, take a second and to take a deep breathe and look around, take it all in and remember how great this time in your life is!!! Second, being a “fiancé” goes by quickly, use that word as often as you can because soon enough you will be a husband and a wife! Lastly, throughout this entire process just soak in the love! The love you have for one another and the love others want to show you in different ways is beautiful and is something to be grateful for and remember. Ashley & I are here for all the craziness of planning, so all you both need to remember is continue to love and grow together during this process and take in each moment. I love you both so much!
xoxo,
Meagan
